My art work is a reflection. -- I grew up in a small town,in a rural community in central Maine. The town being located on a real island- Marsh Island. The community i grew up in was started and settled by log riders on the Penobscot River, these men rode the logs down the river to the mills. There are many (boom-towns) along the river. My family history on Marsh Island started back with the (boom towns). My grandfather was a stonemason. The artwork i am doing is a reflection of the old mechanics, woodcarvers, masons, homes, vehicles, right down to pumping gas, tow trucks and this being my childhood background and community that i grew up in. what you see in my pictures is where my life started. The old garages, trucks, cars, living in a (boom town) the work growing up in these towns was for the mechanic, the bodyshop man, carpenters. Somewhere inside i've always had an affliction for these old vehicles and garages that you are seeing, and in my heart i try to instill the life into these trucks, cars, and garages that they have always given me. I was one of those mechanic sons, so what you're seeing is a reflection of how and where i made money growing up. I will probably never stop drawing these old towns because they are not only my past. It's a community and for me to put my past on paper, i don't know why but, i just can't seem to stop it. It also gives the person a chance to look back at these old buildings and vehicles and reminisce his or her past, with a life of their own.
