Khadija Muteteli- Nabulungi Smith an Ohio Native was born on August, 21, 1972. She sold her first painting at the age of twelve. Since she as built a remarkable portfolio of over 30 pieces in which all have vibrant colors and depict images that can easily relate to everyday experiences. Smith works in watercolor and acrylic on paper and canvas as well as marker. Among her icons are Jacob Lawrence, Fredia Kahlo, Monet, Warhol, and many more. Smith living outside of Chicago, finds inspiration from the fashion scene that permeates the Windy City, with many of her pieces depicting Fashion. Smith also lived in the South for several years, drawing inspiration from Southren Living, down- home blues, cooking and more. Smith's current pieces will feature the way in which women have become very powerful in every facet of life. |
| Smith's art consist of several pieces, entitled "Women of Color", featuring African American women with different textures of hair, and facial features. One of her favorites is entitled "Touch Therapy", because after Smith gave birth to her second child, he was hospitalized, for a week, her visiting and making contact by touch contributed in her son in healing faster. |
